Just saw Control, which is about Ian Curtis and is pretty much the most depressing movie that I've ever seen (except perhaps for Sylvia, they might be a tie). Don't get me wrong, it was amazing; just prepare yourself if you do decide to see it. I knew what was coming, but it still felt like all of the air was gradually sucked out of me as the story progressed.

I'm a redhead again, which I think makes me happier than it should. But damn, it looks so much better than my natural blah hair. I can't believe that I made it a year and a half without dye! Can't see that happening again any time soon/ever.

I've been feeling so much better since I started taking my medicine later in the day. I kept trying to figure out why I always felt so meh and almost never left my apartment after 6-7pm.. and then it hit me that AdderallXR only lasts around 12 hours (more/less). I was taking it as soon as I woke up, which is never much later than about 8am. So yeah, I'm dumb for not realizing it before, but whatever. It's strange that I actually want to be social now, haha ^_^

*spent most of the day recovering from last night
*watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
*went to an after-dark bbq
*received a surprise phone call from Mac and got to see her and Craig for about 5 minutes at St. Mike's before they left to go back to Gainesville

I really wish that I was tired. At least I don't have anything specific to take care of tomorrow. I <3 inter-semester breaks.

The strangest thing just happened. This boy that I've seen a few times in passing but never actually met just knocked on my door: "I know this is kind of weird, but..." and he held up a book. He lives in the apartment behind mine and saw me carrying Shadow and Claw one day. He brought me his copy of Sword and Citadel (that he had just bought at Paperback Rack), the second volume in the series. Didn't see that one coming.

I barely ever use this thing anymore because the vast majority of people who care to hear about any of this are on my myspace, but:

I arrived in Amsterdam at about 6:15am July 3 (Netherlands time) and will be here until August 14.

This will be the first time in years and years that I get to have my birthday without the threat of heatstroke. Temperatures don't vary much from the mid-50's--high 60's and it rains a lot, i.e. perfect.
There are more bicycles here than I thought I would see in my entire life and their local nickname is "the silent death."
The espresso has been excellent in every place I've had it thus far.

I'm kind of in love with this city.

Someone recently commented to me that I carry myself like Audrey Hepburn. Now, I know that this was meant as a compliment but it got me thinking--why the hell are so many girls obsessed with her? Yes, she was graceful, stylish, beautiful, etc. But people, she's not the only one, it's not as though she invented these things. I guess I just don't get the whole "icon" thing and never really have. Good intentions notwithstanding, I'd rather be complimented for something that makes me me as opposed to receiving a compliment because I remind someone of a dead movie star. Shrug.
